Format: Virtual on Zoom and Onsite Weekend Training
Duration: 8th March – 21st July 2024 (spread over 7-weekend sessions)

Participants can choose one or two forms and one form from Option A and Option B;
Option A (One form to be chosen)
- Ba Duan Jin (Health Qigong® - Eight Pieces of Brocade)
- Ma Wang Dui Daoyin Shu (Health Qigong Ma Wang Dui)
Option B (One form to be chosen)
- Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong Shi Er Fa (Health Qigong® -Daoyin 12 Methods)
- Liu Zi Jue (Health Qigong® - Six Healing Sounds)
Welcome to our 16th UK National Health Qigong® Instructor Training Course 2024
Following the success of our 2023 Health Qigong® Instructor course we would like to invite enthusiasts of qigong to our 16th UK National Health Qigong Instructor Training Course
As the popularity of Health Qigong grows, people around the world start to discover, learn, practise, and enjoy the unique physical and psychological health benefits as well as philosophical perspectives that Health Qigong® exercises provide. The British Health Qigong® Association (BHQA) constantly reflects, embraces, and celebrates the unique system of Health Qigong®, and endeavours to offer an incredible experience in this life-changing method to enthusiasts in the UK and further afield.
With over 200 Instructors from the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, Israel and Japan training with us over the past 15 years, we are proud to be an official Health Qigong® instructor training centre as well as official UK representative formally recognised by the International Health Qigong Federation. Enthusiasts and teachers across the world join our unique courses to develop their own practice and bring this fantastic system to their students.
This year the course content will be conducted online and the assessment in person. Upon booking and prior to the start of the course you will receive the course materials which include book/DVD of your chosen form(s). Please note that this course is not about learning the form but learning how to teach the form in detail.
Full participation is expected during the live online sessions. Homework will be set and feedback given to help with your own personal practice and give you the best opportunity at the assessment. We also encourage participants to form online practice groups between sessions for you to get the most out of the course.
To gain the full qualification please note that the following needs to be achieved:
- Attendance and full participation at each online session (6 in total)
- Attendance for the assessment weekend (2 days)
We provide a course welfare officer so that you have a dedicated contact to help with any issues or difficulties that may arise during the course.
Revalidation and CPD opportunities for current BHQA Instructors
Qualified instructors will only require fulfilment of number 1 or 2 from above
What will you learn:
As well as practical teaching skills you will also learn about Yin Yang Theory, Five Elements Principles, Qigong Theories, Philosophy, Inner Essence, Health benefits, TCM Energy meridians and channels related to the exercises.
How will you be assessed?
Technical assessment – a full demonstration of your chosen routine
Teaching assessment – 10 minute teaching practice with your peers on a chosen move from your form
Both assessments will take place on the same day
TCM assessment - a multiple-choice test. The TCM multiple-choice test paper will be emailed out to you, for you to take the test at your leisure with the test returned during the final assessment period.
What will you gain upon success in technical and teaching assessment:
- Instructor Certificate in the unique Health Qigong® options chosen.
- Free instructor membership (£40 for 2024/25 runs until March 2025).
- Full professional support from the BHQA, with an instructor and class listing on our popular website.
- You will be entitled to use the Health Qigong registered trademark for promotional purposes.
Who is eligible to attend:
Anyone wishing to teach Health Qigong will be welcomed onto the course. Please note you will need to know the routine of the form you wish to qualify for.
