Master Faye Li Yip

Master Faye is one of the leading teachers in Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan, standardized forms, and Wudang Sword. She is also one of the highest authorities in Europe in Traditional Sun Style Taiji with a direct lineage to Grand Master Sun Lu Tang.

Master Faye was also the first person to learn and promote the Taiji Kung Fu Fan forms created by Professor Li Deyin. She is the only person who has taught the President (Republic of Ireland) of a European country.

Master Faye has dedicated her effort in the last thirty years in promoting Tai Chi in the UK. Whilst in the past few years has been making connections between the Chinese Arts and Culture Centre in Telford and various universities in China. She is one of the top Tai Chi & Qigong Masters in the UK and Europe.

Master Faye’s style of teaching is one of warmth and gentle encouragement. Her knowledge of the subjects she teaches is outstanding and watching her movements in any of her forms is highly inspiring.

Master Tary Yip

Master Tary, one of Europe's leading experts and masters in Europe, has studied under Professor Li Deyin and, over the past 30 years, has dedicated most of his practice and teaching to Traditional Yang and Sun Style Taiji, Xing Yi, Taiji Kung Fu Fan and Wudang Sword. He has traveled extensively to teach thousands of students in the UK and Europe, Australia, and China. He was also the head coach for the UK national Tai Chi team and led his team to compete in the world Tai Chi competition held in Bulgaria in 2019 and is one of the few masters who trained and produced numerous national & international champions and medal winners.

Master Tary is also the lead instructor in the Deyin Taijiquan Instructor Training School based at the Chinese Health and Culture Centre in Telford.

Master Tary is also the co-founder of the British Health Qigong Association and has taught extensively. He is also: Technical Consultant and master teacher of the Spanish Deyin Taijiquan Institute branch, Vice President of BHQA, Chairman of Wudang Wushu Association GB, Chairman of the Sports Association of UK Chinese Business Confederation, Chief Judge British National Tai Chi Championships.

Master Tary’s teaching style is one of warmth and encouragement and his knowledge is extensive and precise. He will extend his knowledge and physical understanding of all levels of practice.

Master Tary and Master Faye, bearers of the Wudang Sword, classical healing and the Yang and Sung Style Tai Chi lineage and world-renowned martial and qigong artists will be leading the teaching team of senior instructors. 

Deyin Institute and masters Tary and Faye have a deep family lineage connection to traditional Yang and Sun Style Tai Chi. The Photo Lineage chart illustrates the connection of Deyin to some of China's greatest grandmasters in Yang and Sun Style Tai Chi as well as Wudang Sword and classical Qigong healing.

Instructor Diane Brindley

Diane has been teaching under the Deyin umbrella for over 20 years. At the beginning, She competed in British Opens, the BCCMA National Championships and BCMA Wushu Championship. Through Fayes excellent coaching I came back with many trophies and became British National Champion in both Hand and Sword categories.

From 2005, whilst working in Primary Education she introduced Tai Chi into the school's curriculum, initially in the Early Years, and then gradually, alongside Faye we built this into a whole school programme which she implemented in various schools over the following 14 years.

Diane teaches daily to so many fabulous people. She carries on her journey in promoting the great Tai Chi and Qigong exercises under the Deyin's wings and is still taking these precious steps alongside Deyin Family.

 Instructor Angela Howarth

 Angela Howarth is an experienced, highly qualified Deyin Taiji and Qigong instructor. She owns Angela’s Tai Chi School in Liverpool and has trained many people in Taiji and Qigong. Some of her students have gone on to become instructors themselves under the Deyin Taijiquan Institute and are now running their own classes.

Her many achievements include medals in the British Open and London Taiji competitions; being part of Anthony Gormley's One and Other Art project in Trafalgar Square (performing Taiji and Qigong 22 feet high on the 4th plinth!) and performing in front of the Worlds top Taiji masters at the World Taiji Festival in Sanya, China. 

Angela is one of the Deyin Institute’s senior instructors and has to date assisted  Tary with the instructor courses, and seminars.  Angela is looking forward to delivering some of the training at the Summer Retreat.

 

Instructor Sam Ma

Chinese medicine practitioner, specialising in acupuncture, cupping, tui-na(meridian massage) and dietary advice. 

Practised martial arts since age 12 including external kung fu, Wing Chun, Judo, Tai Kwan Do. Sam started his Tai Chi and Qigong journey learning from Masters Tary & Faye in the last few years and was subsequently certified as Deyin Taijiquan Institute Instructor.

Sam has helped students and patients achieve health and wellness through the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong and trained a number of students, who have successfully competed in international and national competitions and won numerous gold and silver medals.
