Health Qigong Duan Grading

Duan Grading for Health Qigong® recognised by the International Health Qigong Federation (IHQF)

The Duan system in Health Qigong® is similar to "Dan" or "grades" in other Martial or Health Enhancing exercises, which although not an endorsement of instructor status, give practitioners indications of their practice and performance standard in the training of Health Qigong®.

The Purpose of a Duan Grading

Duan gr adings provide a great opportunity for Health Qigong enthusiasts of all levels to continually improve their standard and understanding. Whilst a Duan grading is not an endorsement to teach Health Qigong, it does provide a qualification to confirm the standard you have reached with your own practice and provides a pathway for continuous development. Therefore, the Duan grading is a vital element for enthusiasts who are planning to further their study of Health Qigong or looking to step up a level with their career in teaching Health Qigong.

Duan Categories

The IHQF Duans are classified into the following categories:

Duan 1, Duan 2 and Duan 3.

As an authorised member organisation of the IHQF, the BHQA is permitted to approve Duan grades 1, 2 and 3, to members who meet the required criteria.

The IHQF has a Duan Wei Grading system ranging from Pre-Duan’s 1-3 and then 9 Duan Grades 1-9.  The aim is to motivate and inspire enthusiasts to continually seek improvement in their standards of practice in the Health Qigong routines and to have this achievement certified and recognised.

The BHQA is committed to promoting and supporting enthusiasts in attaining Duan grades to register their level of competency in the Health Qigong routine. The BHQA have set up a project team to support this initiative, led by Carol Gascoyne

If you are interested in taking the 1st to 3rd Duan, the BHQA wish to support you, get in touch as soon as possible and provide us with information regarding your Qigong training history to-date.
