Professor Mei Xing - TCM
became a qualified medical doctor in 1985, after 5 years of training at Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She continued to further her integrated medicine knowledge at Beijing’s Dong Zhi Men Hospital, the first affiliated Hospital of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine University in 1989 and then worked at the No. 301 General Hospital of People’s Liberation Army in Beijing in 1999.
She gained her MSc degree from Chengdu Traditional Chinese Medicine University before returning to Guiyang, where she worked as an Associate Professor and Medical Consultant in Endocrinology.
Professor Mei Xing came to the UK in 2000 and was appointed in 2001 by the University of Salford as a lecturer in Traditional Chinese Medicine. By 2005, she became the Programme Leader at Salford University’s BSc Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture course and was promoted in 2006 to Senior Lecturer. Upon leaving the University of Salford, Professor Xing initiated the MSc Traditional Acupuncture programme at Manchester Metropolitan University.
In 2015, she created the Manchester Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a centre for excellence in teaching authentic Traditional Chinese Medicine in the UK, where she now works as the Principal.
Mei has treated patients for over 30 years and has made a great contribution to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as an educator, lecturer, tutor and member of the British Acupuncture Accreditation Committee as Programme Leader and external examiner for several teaching institutes and universities, both in the UK and abroad. Through dedicating herself to excellence in patient care in clinical practice, Mei has grown ever more passionate about the necessity and importance of teaching authentic Traditional Chinese Medicine to a new generation of practitioners in the UK.
Mei regularly advises and gives talks to professional bodies such as the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the British Acupuncture Council and the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Mei continues to use her skills to help her patients and students, professionals and teaching organisations. Through maintaining the high standard of teaching required for the new generation of practitioners, she is passionate about contributing to the evolution of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Academy.

王晓军教授简介 Professor Wang Xiaojun - Vision Improvement Qigong
王晓军,博士,教授,北京体育大学中国武术学院传统运动康养研究中心主任,原北京体育大学武术教研室主任,中国民间中医医药研究开发协会常务理事,国家武术医疗研究会主任, 水中中医运动疗法创始人,中医运动处方专家。 Prof. Wang Xiaojun is the director of Beijing Sport University (BSU) Traditional Chinese Sport Well-being Research Center, With a Ph.D. degree in Tai Chi and Qigong studies, he is President of National Wushu Medicine Institute, after serving as Director of the Wushu Department of BSU. He is also the founder of Traditional Chinese Medicine Aquatic Therapy, expert of Traditional Chinese Medical Exercises Prescription (TCMEP).
王晓军教授秉承“武医一家”的优良传统,师从我国中医运动医学创始人、著名中医学家李永昌教授,曾在北京中医药大学攻读针灸推拿专业硕士学位,并在深入研究武术、气功和按摩基础上,在国内外首次提出并界定了“中医运动处方的理论与方法”“水中中医运动疗法”。 Prof. Wang has inherited the fine tradition of “Wushu and TCM in the same family” by studying under Prof. Li Yongchang, the founder of Traditional Chinese Sport Medicine and a famous doctor in the field of TCM. In addition, Wang Xiaojun also studied acupuncture and massage in a Masters-degree program in Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Based on his research on the theory and practice of Wushu, Qigong and Massage, Prof. Wang created and defined a brand-new theory of Traditional Chinese Medical Exercises Prescription (TCMEP) and Traditional Chinese Medical Aquatic Therapy(TCM-AT) , a first in these arena.
王晓军教授主编了《明目益视功》《伤科推拿学教程》《传统体育养生教程》《中医运动处方理论与方法》《易筋壮骨功》《寿城吸氧操》等著作6本,并在北京体育大学广泛使用,其中寿城吸氧操荣获“世界最大呼吸练习课”吉尼斯世界纪录,明目益视功于2022年被国际体育总局和科技部授予“首批全国优秀体育 科普作品”荣誉称号。主持国家部委级课题10项,于国家级核心刊物发表论文20余篇,北京体育大学《太极拳精品课程》主讲教师。 Prof. Wang is the editor of Vision Improvement Qigong,Traditional Chinese Traumatology Massage Course, Traditional Chinese Sport Well-being Course,Study on the Theory of Traditional Chinese Medical Exercise Prescription and Muscle-bone Strengthening Exercise, which are all well-reviewed textbooks of Beijing Sport University. Prof. Wang also created the Longevity Aerobics which being awarded the title “The Largest Breathing Exercise Lesson” by the Guinness book of World Records.Moreover, Vision Improvement Qigong was awarded the title of "The First Batch of National Excellent Sport Science Popularization Work" by General the Administration of Sport of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China jointly in 2022.He has completed 10 national-ministry-level research projects and published more than 20 papers in China’s leading national journals. He is also the lead teacher of the Tai Chi Course in BSU.
多次应邀于中央电视台、北京电视台主讲太极拳和健身气功,多次赴美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰、西班牙、德国、意大利、俄罗斯、比利时、日本等几十个国家开展学术交流与演讲,促进了中医运动医学的国际传播与发展。 Prof. Wang Xiaojun has been invited to disseminate Tai chi and Qigong on CCTV and BJTV , participate in academic events, exchanges and lectures in many countries, to promote the dissemination and development of Traditional Chinese Sport Medicine worldwide.
